Last changes needed at health services group

THE Clinical Commissioning Group, which will take over planning and buying health services in Wiltshire in two months time, is confident it will receive approval from NHS bosses.
The CCG, comprising mainly GPs, will replace NHS Wiltshire as part of the Government’s reform of the NHS. Each CCG has to gain authorisation from the National Commissioning Board.
It reviewed Wiltshire CCG’s application for authorisation in December but 11 out of the required 119 criteria had not been satisfied. Dr Steve Rowlands, chairman of Wiltshire CCG and a GP in Trowbridge, said it was a minor hitch.
“The 11 (criteria) are quite technical matters and plans are in place to address them.
“I am confident we will get authorisation with few conditions,” he said.
