Keelan, Sean and Sam tuck into their healthy breakfast
Redland Primary School pupils were in no danger of starting their day on an empty stomach during a healthy breakfast week.
Last week the pupils, aged four to 11, tried lots of different breakfasts from boiled egg and muesli to toast and granary bread.
Each day a different class made breakfast and pupils ate it together in their pyjamas before lessons began.
Headteacher Hilary Lambert said the children particularly enjoyed the European-style breakfast, which came with a selection of cold meat and cheese.
She said: “We held the week to emphasise the importance of a healthy start to the day, particularly within a learning environment.
“The children loved the novelty of starting the day in their pyjamas and having something to eat in the classrooms.”
The week will also help the primary school towards accreditation for its second healthy schools award. It also has a small vegetable plot.
