A NATIVITY pantomime with a Christian message that was performed at Sheep Street Baptist Church has been declared a success by its organisers.
All three performances were sold out but the opening night was afflicted by heavy snow and a number of people who had bought tickets were unable to attend.
The production involved members of the Baptist Church, St James’ Church and St Andrews Church.
It was directed by Nina Woolrych, the former artistic director of the Wharf Theatre, Devizes, who also directed last year’s Passion Play in the town centre.
Pauline Hawkins, choir leader and organist at St Andrew’s Church, said: “It was a brilliant show with all the usual booing and hissing. One of the stars of the show was Mondeo the donkey, played by husband and wife Chris and Margaret Stone.”
