Ivy Lane Primary School pupils enjoying the puppet show
Children at Ivy Lane Primary School in Chippenham have been inspired to make puppets after a visit from a national puppet company.
The school pulled some strings to persuade PuppetCraft, from Devon, to come and perform last Thursday.
The show was based on Adrian Mitchell’s book Nobody Rides the Unicorn.
Key Stage One teacher Donna Gardiner said: “It was really fabulous.
“The children enjoyed it immensely and sat really well for the whole hour.”
Six-year-old Jesse Russell said: “My favourite bit was when she sang and the unicorn laid his head on her lap.”
Harry McLoughlin, six, said: “It was funny because the king was very fat.”
Connie Sheppard, also six, said he thought the show was “magical” and Adam Reynolds, seven, said it was amazing because “the waterfall looked real”.
The production tied in with the term’s theme, Out of the Box.
