Wootton Bassett Light Operatic Society stages its sparkling new show, Alice in Pantoland, nightly from today.
The show, written by Ellie Smart, is inspired by Lewis Carroll’s well-loved characters and will run until Saturday at the Memorial Hall, when there will be a matinee at 2.30pm.
Ellie, 18, said, “I’ve always loved the Alice story, and I’ve enjoyed writing my version, with a bit of a twist.”
She plans to take up an offer of a university course in screen writing and film production at Worcester after A-levels.
Alice in Pantoland will benefit from the skills of student make-up artists from New College, Swindon. The title role is taken by Deanna Aspell, 13, while Andrew Johnson, 16, plays Ralph, who accompanies Alice on her adventures. Tickets at £8 (concessions £6) are bookable on 07884 432400, tickets@wblos. org.uk and at the Post Office, High Street, Royal Wootton Bassett.
