Budding barbershop singers in Corsham are invited to join a new ladies’ choir in the town.

Jules Addison is looking to recruit singers to the Corsham Bellettes, the town’s first all-female barbershop choir.

Mr Addison already runs several ladies’ choirs in north Wiltshire and is looking to set up his first Corsham group. The Bellettes choirs all specialise in barbershop and cabaret-style a-capella and unaccompanied singing, consisting of between eight and 16 members.

He is a professionally-trained musician, who has been involved with choirs all his life, performing at school before studying music at Royal Holloway, University of London. He has since worked as a music producer, composer and choirmaster.

He said: “It has been going a week now. We’ve already got four members, so there are spaces for a couple more.

“I’m hoping it will be a performance choir, to go out and put on shows for local events and charities. We’ve already got the chance for a show in May, but we’re just seeing how things go at the moment.

“Previous experience would be good, but we’re open to anyone who’s interested and can pick it up.”

The choir meets every Thursday at 7.30pm at the Pound Arts Centre. To audition, call Mr Addison on 07855 275353.
