A pregnant woman who fell over in snow in Pewsey at Friday lunchtime was taken to hospital.

The woman had dislocated a kneecap.

Because of a snow storm the Wiltshire Air Ambulance/Police helicopter was unable to fly so air ambulance paramedic Richard Miller drove in a 4x4 vehicle from the air support unit in Devizes to her.

He treated her, gave her pain relief and drove her to Rushall where they met a St John Ambulance 4x4 in which she was then taken to the Great Western Hospital, Swindon.

The following day the helicopter landed in a field in Pewsey just after 3pm to help a man who had gone into cardiac arrest but he could not be revived.
