Police plea after man found unconscious in Chippenham

Wiltshire Police have appealed for information after a young man who suffered a head injury in a late night incident in Chippenham town centre.

Police officers found a 24-year-old man lying unconscious at about 3.30am on Friday, December 28, outside the One Stop Shop in Market Place.

The man was taken to Great Western Hospital in Swindon where he was treated for a minor fracture to the skull.

He had also suffered a black eye and bleeding.

Detective Constable Nige Bullimore, of Melksham CID, said: "This young man suffered a serious injury and I need to find out what happened beforehand.

"If anyone witnessed what happened or has any information about the incident please could they contact Wiltshire Police on 101 and ask for me. Alternatively they can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
