Coun Robert Hall cuts the ribbon to declare the footpath open
Residents in Patney will be spared muddy shoes as a new footpath has been created.
The short path links the post box and the village noticeboard on the village green.
Parish council chairman Tracey Rose said: “The green is very muddy as you step up from the road, with a short walk to the post box and the noticeboard. Because the weather has been so bad it has been really muddy.”
The parish council spent some of the profits from the party it held for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee last year on the path.
Parish councillors Nigel Thursby and Phil Holme spent time, provided spare wood and a couple of bags of gravel to make the path.
