Redrow Homes has donated a new minibus to St Nicholas School in Chippenham.

The 14-seater minibus is an additional one for the special school, whose 69 pupils have complex learning disabilities.

Redrow, which is building homes in Malmesbury, Calne and Devizes, has raised money for St Nicholas School for the past two years and has given it more than £80,000.

The new minibus will be used for school trips, transport to swimming lessons, horse riding sessions and other extracurricular activities. It has been named Woody after the cowboy from the Toy Story films.

Peter Whitby, director of St Nicholas, said: “The ongoing support from Redrow is fantastic.

“This new minibus allows us to have more freedom to take the children out and about.”

Barry Stiles, regional director of Redrow (South West), said: “We are pleased to be donating this minibus to St Nicholas School. The staff are highly trained in supporting pupils with learning disabilities.”
