Black widow spider
A potentially deadly spider was found in a Chippenham workplace today, according to staff.
A worker leaving Crane Manufacturing Systems this afternoon said some staff were sent home early from the site on Bumpers Farm after the suspected Black Widow was found. No one was hurt.
The highly poisonous intruder, native to warm regions of the USA, was contained as a precaution.
Headquarters at Crane, which designs and manufactures vending machines, refused to confirm any incident had taken place.
