Pupils at Hardenhuish School, Chippenham, will be learning from a special guest tomorrow, the Poet Laureate, Carol Ann Duffy.
She will formally open its resource centre and read her poetry from students at the secondary school.
The centre has undergone major revamp, which resulted in a modern research facility, with access to Kindles, iPads and DVDs.
Matt Hall, head of English, said: “Our pupils are very excited at the prospect of meeting Carol Ann Duffy.
“It is a real honour to have such a literary celebrity visit our school and a further statement of our commitment to promoting a vibrant culture of whole school English.”
