Seven-year-old Izzy Darker will remember the poorest people this Christmas – and get her community singing into the bargain.
The Malmesbury Church of England School pupil is helping organise a Big Sing for Christian Aid to raise money to end poverty and to have an excuse a festive sing-along.
Izzy said: “I want to run a Big Sing because a small amount of money can make a big difference. I have put in £9 of my own money”
Her mum, Corrie, said: “I showed Izzy Christian Aid’s Christmas catalogue and when she saw that £912 could build a concrete house for someone in poverty, she was astounded.
"We decided it might be a bit much to pay on our own but that she could try to raise the money.”
The Malmesbury Big Sing will be on Saturday, December 8, at the United Reformed Church in St Mary’s Street between 4 and 5.30pm.
Mince pies will be served, entry is free but donations are welcome.
