International economist and author Dambisa Moyo, who has been described by Time Magazine as one of the most influential women in the world, is coming to Marlborough next year to present the annual Brandt lecture.
Ms Moyo, who was born in 1969 and brought up in Zambia, went on to study at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, where she gained a masters degree in business administration.
She also gained a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from the American University in Washington and she holds a PhD in economics from Oxford. Ms Moyo worked for the World Bank as a consultant and in the debt capital markets for Goldman Sachs.
In March last year she spoke in Westminster Abbey on “women as agents of change” in the presence of the Queen, the Prime Minister and 2,000 guests at the annual Commonwealth Day observance service.
In the same month she was chosen as one of “150 extraordinary women who shake the world”.
The Brandt lecture will be on March 5 in the College Memorial Hall.
