Wiltshire Council is carrying out repairs to two roads in Devizes next week.

Estcourt Street will be resurfaced between Roses roundabout and St James’ Church.

The work will be carried at night starting on Monday until November 30 excluding weekends. The hours of work will be 7pm to midnight and two- way traffic lights will be used.

A spokesman for Wiltshire Council said: “The council carries out essential repair work in the evening in order to reduce congestion at roadworks during the day which causes disruption to local people and businesses.

“However, we apologise for any inconvenience this causes to nearby residents and we would ask them to bear with us while we carry out this vital work to the road.”

Also on Monday night workers will carry out temporary repair work to the uneven cobbled area in Maryport Street where plastic barriers have been in place for months.

A more permanent repair will take place in the new year to avoid disruption during the Christmas period.
