The organisers of the first ever visit to Wiltshire by the original Military Wives Choir from Chivenor in Devon, which will be performing in Marlborough tomorrow, say they are expecting a last- minute rush for the few tickets which remain unsold.

The choir will sing in the college Memorial Hall, joining forces with the Great Western Chorus in aid of Wessex Cancer Trust (WCT) and other charities.

The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £20 from www.wessexcancer.org or from (023) 8067 2200.

Chivenor Military Wives Choir was the very first of the military wives choirs and launched the phenomena for choirs which is now sweeping the country.

The Chivenor Military Wives Choir first touched the nation’s hearts through the BBC TV reality show The Choir. It went on to achieve astonishing national success, topping the charts last Christmas with the single Wherever You Are and releasing a first album, In My Dreams, which also went straight to number one.

The 40-strong blend of voices will be singing a number of songs from the choir’s hugely popular original album and from its new album, Stronger Together.

The music starts at 7.30pm with The Military Wives singing first, followed by Great Western Chorus. The two choirs will join forces at the end of the evening.

Proceeds from the evening will also be shared between the Royal British Legion and the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association.
