A Chippenham man whose book has become a critically acclaimed film will attend screenings this weekend at a pub in the town.

Last Shop Standing, a 50-minute documentary featuring some of the biggest names in music such as Billy Bragg and Paul Weller, tells the tale of the rise and fall of the independent record shop.

Its author Graham Jones, of Langley Road, is a former record company sales manager.

He will be at two screenings at the Old Road Tavern on Sunday, where he will answer audience questions.

Lindsey Miller, manager of the Old Road Tavern, said: “I am really excited to be hosting Chippenham’s screening for such a landmark of a film on the music industry. We’re so privileged to have Graham come to our pub.

“Tickets are selling well so I’d highly recommend for anyone who wants to come to buy them from here in advance.”

Entrance is £5 and there are showings at 7pm and 9pm on November 18. For details call (01249) 652094.
