Primary school children had a hands-on learning experience at the LEGO Robots Holiday Club in Chippenham.

They built and programmed their own LEGO robots at Queens Crescent Primary School on Tuesday.

It was run by Chippenham firm ComputerXplorers.

Alan Crocker, director of the children’s technology company, said: “We have run this programme many times across Wiltshire with great interest.

“With media focus on the Mars Rover, Asimo and the Boston ‘Big Dog’, there has been a renaissance in robotics.

“There is even a robot astronaut aboard the International Space Station flipping switches and monitoring experiments.

“This encourages an interest in computers, machines and artificial intelligence.”

More than 20 children, aged eight to 11, attended and the event was sold out.
