Don’t fall for UKash scam

Police in Chippenham are warning people of a scam involving vouchers used to buy products off the internet.

People have been telephoned by callers offering refunds and asking for the security numbers on their UKash cards.

The bogus callers have then used the numbers to buy goods off the internet.

Sgt Phil Conner of Chippenham Police said two such incidents had been reported to them.

He said: “UKash is a legitimate company that is being abused in a scam.

“If people receive calls from somebody asking for their UKash security number they should note down the telephone number of the caller and report them to trading standards.”
