Wiltshire Wildlife Trust marked its 50th anniversary with a day of activities and entertainment.

It used its AGM as an opportunity for organising a variety of entertainment for children, including making things out of recycled materials and painting wildlife scenes. But it also took the opportunity to recognise the thousands of volunteers who undertake conservation work all over the county. Richard Cureton, who assists with the organisation of the Sarsen Trail sponsored walk, received the award for young volunteer of the year.

Monica Blake, secretary of the Chippenham local supporters’ group, was recognised for her lifetime achievement. Volunteer of the year was Les Lipscombe, one of the leaders of the Salisbury wildlife group, and the volunteer group of the year was the trust’s waste prevention volunteers.
