Thomas the Tank Engine heads back to Box

| Thomas is heading for Box |
Thomas the Tank Engine will be heading home at the end of the month when he chugs into the Box Revels fete.
And it is hoped thousands will turn out to greet him.
The legendary children's train was dreamed up by author the Rev Wilbert Awdry when he lived at Lawn House, Box, during his childhood and while he was studying at Dauntsey's School.
Now the blue engine will roll back to Box for its 24th fete on Bank Holiday Monday, May 26, and will be in the Queen's Head car park.
"This is where he was born as far as we are concerned," said Lesley Harris, a member of railway group Steam back to Box and the Revels committee.
"He was always coming, whatever Revels decided to do. We were going to work around Thomas for the theme because he is such a big part of it."
The fair has a theme every year and this time children's stories has been picked.
Over 35 stalls will take part in the event, which attracts up to 2,000 people, although Ms Harris is hoping for more.
She said: "Obviously it is weather-dependent but it does attract a lot of people, Thomas will hopefully attract far more, so we are hoping for about 5,000."
Mike Curd, chairman of the Revels committee, also feels Thomas will draw the crowds.
"People will be able to see him as they go by and I am sure there is going to be a lot of interest," he said.
Mr Curd, who has been involved with the fair for 20 years, wants families to have a good time.
"What it is all about is having a good time," he said.
"It is not about making money. If we get any money it does not stay in the bank . We give it to the those community groups that apply for it."
