MANY people in the Devizes area enjoy the annual Lions May Fair in Devizes Market Place, and some people will know that, with great regret, we have had to cancel it this year.
It has been run successfully for many years, so the cancellation has been a big blow to everybody, not least our club members who are volunteers and have worked hard to put it on again this year.
We found we were unable to comply with the interpretation of the regulations being required by Wiltshire Council officers.
To all those who have come on May Day to enjoy the event, and all those who have set up stalls for all sorts of charities, and those who have brought their classic vehicles along, we are sorry not to be seeing you again this year.
