THERE has been correspondence in the national press over the merits of various tea bags and the perennial question of milk first or last. When in Ceylon some years ago I toured a tea factory and was shown the sifting process for the dried tea leaves which consisted of a series of sieves each of a different mesh, the first one with the largest mesh producing the best quality tea. At the end of the process all that was left was a heap of tea dust on the floor. On enquiring what the tea dust was used for I was told that it went in to tea bags. From that time I have always used loose tea !
