IT WAS good to hear that £50,000 was raised by businesses and organisations to help support the next generation of Wiltshire sports stars at the Business and Sports Gala Dinner in County Hall.
Money raised from the night will boost the fund which provides financial help to the next generation of elite, world class athletes.
This is great news. But the issue for Trowbridge is that there are not adequate modern sporting facilities in the town. Our community deserves high class sporting facilities like those at the Community Campus in Corsham.
Our young people need access to the best facilities and community spaces and support as well. All of us would benefit from a place in our town dedicated to our physical and social well being.
We need to come together as a community to campaign for a Community Campus here in Trowbridge like the ones in Corsham and Salisbury.
