I ATTEND Swindon hospital three times a week for dialysis. For some weeks now both lifts at the north end have been out of order and the third, so called dirty lift, we are not allowed to use.
Of the three lifts at the west end, one is out of order.
To get to the renal department we have to walk the length of the building, as it is in the far corner of the building on the top floor.
Question: why has it taken so long to repair? Has Carillion been penalised for lack of maintenance? With only three out of six lifts working it would be impossible to evacuate the top floors as most patients are chair or bed-bound.
Where does health and safety stand in all this? Answers please.
