I REFER to the letter by Mr Robert Macmillan, published in last week’s edition of the Gazette & Herald and expressing some concern over the forthcoming installation of mobile phone equipment in the belfry of St Peter’s Church, Marlborough.
The trustees of St Peter’s are confident that they will receive unequivocal assurance from CTIL (Vodafone) that there will be no health and safety risk whatsoever to people climbing the helical stairway, and passing the strictly directional electronic equipment in the belfry, on their way to the top of the tower.
We look forward to escorting many more visitors up the tower as the year progresses, giving them an insight into the history of St Peter’s and its surroundings, and providing them with a breathtaking aerial view of the town.
