WE AT the Wharf Theatre were delighted to welcome the young actors of Stagecoach Trowbridge at the theatre last week with their production of Fame Jnr.
The show, directed by Lou Cox, was excellent and the performances lived up to expectations.
Everyone was pleased with the review in your paper written by Nia Powell but dismayed to see you had relocated the Wharf Theatre to Trowbridge.
Now I know there are even people in Devizes who don’t know where the Wharf Theatre is but I would have thought our local paper, which regularly covers shows and other events at the venue, would have been aware it is one of the few market towns in the area to have its own theatre.
Many people found their way here to enjoy recent shows such as The Heiress and I’m sure even more will attend Jack the Ripper – the Musical when it opens on March 10.
Please reassure them that is still beside the Kennet and Avon Canal in Devizes, repeat Devizes, and has not moved anywhere.
