IN reply to Mr Steve Hulbert’s letter of December 22 on the Rawlings Green development in your paper. One of the major stumbling blocks over the road access to the site was raised at a recent planning meeting at County Hall.
It appears that access via Langley Road is in dispute between Wavin Plastics and Wiltshire Council for two reasons.
1. The proposed rail bridge would link with Parsonage Way. An established road which accesses their factory.
2. Ownership of a strip of land at the end of Parsonage Way. Both parties lay claim to it. This land is earmarked for building the proposed rail bridge which is also subject to a planning application.
It looks like the lawyers are going to have a field day. Meanwhile, a decision on the planning application for Rawlings Green has been deferred for a few more months. Watch this space.
