IT never ceases to amaze me just how generous the people of Chippenham and Corsham are.
Chippenham Lions Club members, family and friends have been touring both towns for 17 evenings with our annual carol float and the public have generously donated some £10,500 towards our charity appeal. After expenses such as fuel, we will have raised almost £10,000 which will be passed to groups and individuals in need over the coming months.
While raising money for charity is important to us, all our collectors enjoy seeing so many children, of all ages, out on the streets each night obviously enjoying the spectacle of the float, its lights and the music.
If I add the profit from our other Christmas fundraising events, we will have raised almost £14,000 over the Christmas period and I would like to thank everyone who supported us. You can be assured that the money raised will be distributed with great care to ensure it only goes to the most deserving.
Thank you all once more.
