I WOULD like to acknowledge Richard Jennings, the manager of The Pheasant, Chippenham for winning his award from Wadworth’s Brewery for the title of best manager as reported in last week’s Gazette & Herald.
Increasing turnover annually from £400,000 to £1.47 million is an amazing achievement and one that he can be very proud of.
I have wined and dined at The Pheasant on many occasions over the years, have thoroughly enjoyed my food and drink and I have always been served by professional, caring and smiling staff, which is a credit to the manager.
Now, if Mr Jennings can invest a little money in getting the clock on the outside of the building to tell the correct time that would be lovely. The timepiece, which is on one of the first buildings seen when entering Chippenham from the Bath direction, has been wrong for years (long before Mr Jennings’ time if you can excuse the pun).
