To mark its 30th Anniversary the Newbury Spring Festival re-affirms its international credentials with a lineup of artists from around the globe for two weeks of world-class music making and entertainment.

The festival runs from May 10 to 24 in Newbury and the surrounding villages.

Four of the world's greatest orchestras, the Russian State Symphony Orchestra, the European Union Chamber Orchestra, the English Chamber Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will all appear in the glorious setting of St Nicolas Church in Newbury.

A new series of International Celebrity Recitals presents, from Australia guitarist John Williams, from the USA pianist Emanuel Ax, from New Zealand organist Dame Gillian Weir, and from China the rising star cellist Li-Wei.

Clare Teal and Claire Martin are among the best jazz voices around today and will both appear at the Corn Exchange, the same venue where the Morriston Orpheus Choir will perform their traditional Welsh male harmonies. Tenebrae and Ex Cathedra will grace Douai Abbey with programmes of Russian Orthodox and Latin American sacred music.

Tickets and full details are available from the Festival Box Office, The Corn Exchange, Market Place, Newbury RG14 5BH.
