Win tickets to comedy night
12:00pm Thursday 5th April 2012 in Theatre & Arts By Alison Phillips
COMEDY is coming to Trowbridge at a level never seen before, as the town’s new-look Civic Centre welcomes Miles Jupp to the first of a planned series of comedy nights.
Comedy Live at the Civic promises to be high profile, high quality and an affordable night – and we have five pairs of tickets to give away.
The organisers want to create something Trowbri-dge has not seen before – big names, on the big stage.
The goal is to make Comedy Live at the Civic as acclaimed as any of the best comedy nights in the country and organisers are pulling out all the stops to do it. Trowbridge is in for a treat.
Headlining the opening night on April 14, Miles Jupp has wide appeal: never mind catching them young with his performance as Archie on Balamory, he is one of the best comedy acts seen on both TV and the stage.
He has appeared on Mock the Week, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Have I Got News for You and was on BBC Let’s Dance For Sport Relief, dancing to The Prodigy’s Firestarter just a couple of weeks ago.
Miles will be supported by Howard Read, an outstanding British comedian, animator and aspiring song writer best known for his work with his animated sidekick, Little Howard. Jeoff Whiting is the compere for the evening.
The Wiltshire Times can offer readers the chance to win a pair of tickets to this great night, a prize worth £36. To be in with a chance of winning, just answer this question: Q Which cult children’s TV series did Miles Jupp appear in?
Send your answer on a postcard to: Comedy Live competition, Wiltshire Times, 15 Duke Street, Trowbridge, BA14 8EF, with your name and a contact email address, to arrive by noon on Thursday, April 12. The winners will be contacted by email, to collect their tickets at the Civic Centre on the night.
Doors open at 7.30pm on April 14 with the show at 8pm. Tickets are £18 from Trowbridge Information Centre, part of the civic centre, in person or on 01225 765072.
