PREVIEW: The House on the Cliff Western Players Swindon Arts Centre The Western Players will stage George Batson's mystery/comedy, the House on the Cliff, at the Arts Centre, Devizes Road, Swindon, from Wednesday to Saturday, June 25 to 28.
The isolated clifftop house overlooks the scene of a tragedy which occurred some years before the action of the play.
An excursion boat was sunk, and even now, on a windy night one may chance to hear echoes of the incident.
The house is home to Karen, a concert pianist (played by Shirley Dodson), her stepdaughter Ellen Clayton (Hannah Evans) who is confined to a wheelchair following an accident, and their dour housekeeper Jenny, played by Fran Loss.
Adrian Peace plays Dr Lane, the family GP.
A visit from the cheerful, curious Nurse Pepper (Karen Evans) and young Dr Phillips (John Fisher), sets the scene for an entertaining evening.
The play, directed by Edna Reeves, features murder and the play has some surprises in store.
Tickets £6 (£5 concessions) are bookable by calling (01793) 433297 or email BoxOffice@westernplayers.co.uk.
