Now in its 19th year, the highly respected amateur group Shakespeare Live is tackling All's Well That Ends Well for the first time.
Six performances will be held in the glorious grounds of Hazelbury Manor between Corsham and Bradford on Avon on what should be balmy summer evenings. But if the weather is less clement, never fear. Shakespeare Live has never cancelled a show and whatever the climate brings, the audience stays dry in the massive covered stand that makes this venue special.
Preview: Shakespeare Live, Hazelbury Manor, Box
July 7-12
The Shakespeare Live experience starts at 6.30 each evening, when the gardens are open for picnics, drinks at the licensed bar, or just a chance to enjoy the lawns and flower borders, with extra entertainment laid on for the gala nights on Friday and Saturday.
All's Well That Ends Well is one of Shakespeare's later plays, sometimes described as his problem plays; it deals with a difficult moral dilemma as Helena tries her utmost to entrap the man she loves, but it also contains one of Shakespeare's most lovable characters, Parolles, a cowardly soldier whose antics guarantee laughter.
Tickets are available now from the Shakespeare Live box office, (01225) 722987, or online at www.shakespearelive.com/booking - priced between £20 and £6.
