The Western Players' spring production, Shady Business, a madcap comedy by Robin Hawdon, directed by Julia Edwards, will be staged from March 11 - 14, at The Arts Centre, Devizes Road, Swindon, nightly at 7.30pm.
Set in London's underworld, the plot revolves around Mandy (Maria Hiscock) and Tania (Zoe Roberts), dancers at a Soho nightclub owned by Mandy's possessive boyfriend Big Mack (Steve Summers) , who thrives on crime.
Mandy has fallen for Gerry (Matt Hemmings) , a city broker who visits the club. Tom Freegard plays Terry, a new henchman, who brings weekly takings from one of Mack's businesses, but the money is short and the boss is on his way to collect. Can Mandy and Tania keep Big Mack, Dozer (John Fisher) and Harry the Hammer (Adrian Peace) at bay, in a confusing melee of events? Amid a crazy roller-coaster of mistaken identities, will the true facts ever come to light?
