Theatre companies, an opera group and school choirs are coming together for a Christmas concert to raise funds for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

The Invitation Theatre Company and White Horse Opera, both from Devizes, and Trowbridge’s TAOS Musical Theatre will be joined by Salisbury Cathedral Junior Choir and The Cherubini and Seraphim Choirs from Salisbury Cathedral School to present an evening of beautiful music, all set to candlelight.

The concert on Saturday, December 6, is being organised by Jemma Brown, from The Invitation Theatre Company.

Paul Morgan, from the group, said: “We are collaborating with some remarkable singing groups and choirs from around Wiltshire to bring an evening of truly beautiful music.”

The concert will be compered by Rob Robinson, from Bristol, who was airlifted to hospital in 2005 after he fractured his neck and suffered a brain injury in a car accident near Chippenham.

Rob, a volunteer for the air ambulance, said: “It’s going to be a fantastic evening. Getting involved with these guys is just great and I suppose I’m the best example of someone who desperately needed Wiltshire Air Ambulance – without which, I wouldn’t be here today”.

The performance is being recorded by Fantasy Radio and will be broadcast on Sunday, December 7.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance will have to raise £2.5m a year from January when it will have its own helicopter. For the past 24 years, it has shared a helicopter with Wiltshire Police.
