Poet says show was his best

UP and coming performance poet Luke Wright says his show in Devizes on Sunday night was possibly the best he has done in his life.

The 26-year-old performer from Colchester, Essex, said in a blog on his website this week that he had been a bit depressed about his writing until the performance at the Wharf Theatre.

He wrote: "I've been rubbish of late, I know. I'm not sure I have the facilities to write well as it's eleven and I've had a few ales.

"However, I've just done what I reckon to be in the top five gigs of my life ever. Perhaps even the best. I did my Poet & Man show in Devizes in Wiltshire and everything went quite swimmingly.

"It's gigs like this that make it all seem worthwhile. No, scrub that, it's gigs like these make me KNOW that it's all worthwhile.

"I had a curry afterwards (always a bonus) and drank some Wadworth 6X, which is made right here in Devizes. Apparently they still deliver the 6X from the brewhouse to the pubs here in Devizes by shire horse.

"Doesn't that make everything seem better? Well, it does for me right now."

Mr Wright's full blog can be read at his website.
