Kelly Brook has accused Simon Cowell of being “disrespectful” to her over her short-lived tenure as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent.

The model, who is currently starring on US television in NBC’s One Big Happy, was hired as a fourth judge for the hit ITV show in 2009 but was axed just six days later.

But the 35-year-old said she “wasn’t bothered” as she had always hoped to go into acting.

She told the Sunday Mirror: “The way Simon made it look was that I went chasing him. I didn’t. He called me and asked if I would do it, like the next day. So I called my stylist, got some clothes sorted and got there in time.

“Simon didn’t, though – he was hours late. We would have to start at 9am and he wouldn’t get there until 1pm. It was disrespectful to me, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan.

“Throughout my career, if I have a call time of 9am, I’ll be there at 8.30am ready to go. Simon didn’t work like that, it was his party and he did it his way. It wasn’t what I wanted to do anyway, I wanted to act. So when it didn’t work out I wasn’t bothered, it meant I could go back to doing what I really wanted to do.”

Kelly attended the first auditions for the 2009 series in Manchester but got the call telling her she was dropped after the tapes were viewed.

Cowell, speaking at the time, said he felt the format could not “support another judge” and said he would “never add a fourth judge to the panel”.

The show has enjoyed continued success, with this year’s panel line-up featuring Cowell, Holden, former Mis-Teeq rapper Alesha Dixon and Little Britain star David Walliams.
