Damian Lewis looked worlds away from his glamorous wife Helen McCrory as he joined her for the launch of the new series of Peaky Blinders.
Helen, who stars as Polly Gray, aunt of Cillian Murphy’s character Tommy Shelby, in the gritty gangster epic, donned a black dress with an asymmetric cream hem and over-sized canary yellow cuffs, while Damian slummed it in jeans, trainers and a grey jumper.
The Homeland star’s only nod to the glamour of the occasion came in the form of his handsomely-trimmed beard.
Leading man Cillian looked dapper alongside show creator Steven Knight as the cast and crew united at the BFI Southbank to launch the third series ahead of its return to BBC Two on Thursday.
Annabelle Wallis made it clear she wasn’t in the same boat as her pregnant character Grace in a slinky cut-out red dress, while Natasha O’Keeffe had her real-life bump on full display.
Series three will kick off with Tommy’s wedding, finally letting fans see whether he’ll chose Grace or the beautiful May (Charlotte Riley).
And we’ll see Tommy pulled into the glamorous and dangerous world of international intrigue in 1920s Britain, putting his entire organisation and family at risk, and forcing him to question everything about his own ambitions and desires.
Also at the premiere were Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Paul Anderson, Harry Kirton and new girl Gaite Jansen.
Mad Max star Tom Hardy is expected to give a return performance as gangster Alfie Solomons, while Paddy Considine joins this series as a corrupt priest.
Peaky Blinders returns to BBC Two at 9pm on Thursday May 5.
