Georgia Mancio will be at Swindon's Art Centre on April 29.
Georgia Mancio is one of the up and coming names among jazz singers. She has
a mellow, mature voice and makes complex keys and rhythms sound so easy.
You can treat yourself to a evening of her music at Swindon's Art Centre on
April 29.
Her second album, Trapeze is an intriguing collection of jazz standards and
songs from Chile, Brazil, Italy and Cuba, as befits her Anglo-Latino family
background.
Just as easy on the ear are Georgia's voice are her terrific musicians -
Gareth Lockrane, John Pearce, Dave Green, Dave Ohm and Anselmo Netto.

In among the Italian and Cuban foot-tapping rhythms is Lionel Bart's Where
Is Love? from the musical Oliver! Georgia gives it a bluesey treatment that
is almost soporific.
Two tracks that stand out for me are Never Will I Marry, a Frank Loesser
number given a lively makeover, and Life On Mars? which has some
spine-tingling harmonies.
