One of the most talked about new folk fusion acts in the South West is set to appear at The Southgate Inn, Devizes on Saturday 2nd May.

Kerfuzion are a stunning duo creating a heady mix of world music formed from traditional and original Irish music with Spanish Flamenco guitar styles. The duo features Karen Woods on wooden flute, whistles, fiddle, bodhran and vocals, and David Nash on guitar, banjo and mandolin. Karen and David play mostly in Bristol and are well known in both the Irish folk and Flamenco music scenes. As a duo they have been developing their style over the past 2 years and have been getting rave reviews.

Karen says “We began by simply playing sets of traditional Irish tunes, however this has been developing into a 'folk fusion' sound, with the addition of more original compositions. We like to put an original stamp on the music we play, so they are folky, funky and great fun to perform live”.

Sarah Wixon from the Southgate Inn is thrilled to have booked Kerfusion. Sarah says “Putting on interesting live music at The Southgate has become a passion for us, we strive to put on something a little more challenging than the average pub band here, this year we have had gypsy jazz, and amazing Irish and jazz outfits playing. We are reaching out further than the local area in an effort to bring alternative music into the Devizes pub scene. Kerfusion are quite stunning and we hope that Devizes will support us and enjoy a fabulous evening”.

Kerfusion play at The Southgate Inn – Devizes on Saturday 2nd May. The music starts at 9pm and as always entrance is free.
