Fully licensed and outdoor seating

Tucked away from hustle and bustle of the High Street in Warminster, the Cornmarket Cafe Bistro always seems to have its own hive of activity every time I’ve walked past.

Deciding to take a look for myself, it was as I expected when I went in with almost no spare seat in the house.

Managing to find a free chair, I ordered a beef lasagne with chips for £7.25 and a side of salad for an extra pound along with a mug of tea for £1.25.

From outside the cafe looks to be quite small but inside it is spacious with small wooden tables and chairs dotted about.

It is clearly a regular and popular destination for many of the town’s older residents and with a varied menu, including sandwiches, jacket potatoes and more traditional pub meals as well as deserts, it has plenty to offer.

After a twenty minute wait my food finally arrived with a quick apology from the member of staff, by which time the small bit of tea that I had left was now cold.

The food itself was delicious though and I couldn’t fault it as there was certainly plenty.

The lasagne was freshly made and very tasty and the salad was a nice mix of coleslaw, cucumber and tomato rather than the heap of lettuce that so often comes with a meal.

The chips were nicely cooked and I left full if not a little later than planned.

Total bill came to £9.50.
