I find The Milk Churn quite deceiving, from the outside it looks like an average pub, but when you step inside it is beautifully decorated and has an upmarket restaurant feel to it.

I wasn’t after anything too filling so skimmed the mains and skipped to the lunch menu served from noon-5pm. The New York Deli (£7.35) jumped out at me from their American Sub section which included Monterey Jack cheese, pastrami, mustard and pickled gherkins. My friend Sapphire went for The Fish Dog (£7.85) which is basically a posh fish finger made of beer batter cod with mushy peas and tartar sauce. Both subs came with a tiny salad and skin-on chips. While we waited for our food we ordered our drinks, being a coffee lover I went for a Mocha (£2.75) and Sapphire chose a lemonade (£2.30). I was however disappointed to have to pull a fibre of some sort of my mouth which had found itself in my drink. I was then faced with another blow to be told there was no pastrami but I could have Parma ham instead. But I give them top marks for food presentation. I wouldn’t choose The New York Deli again if I had the choice., the mustard and the gherkin, as to be expected, are quite tangy and unfortunately were too overwhelming for my taste buds and I couldn't taste much of the ham and cheese. Sapphire on the other hand was more than happy with her choice. The bill came to £20.25.
