ST Stephen’s Place is home to a number of restaurants, one of which is bound to feed your appetite.

On a quick lunch break, I decided to pop over to Valeroso Lounge after only hearing good things about it since it opened in February.

As you walk in, the interior is very chic and eclectic with the walls being mounted with a variety of paintings and portraits.

Once I had a glance over the menu I was surprised to see such a wide range of food including their all day breakfast choice which is a rarity these days.

Seizing the opportunity, I opted for tripled-stacked buttermilk pancakes served with banana, strawberries, peach sauce and Greek yogurt. I ordered a caramel milkshake on the side.

My friend Ariana ordered a mocha and chose the lunchtime special of soup and a Panini although she was less than impressed with her stained cup.

When our food came, I was hopeful that it would taste nice but I was bitterly disappointed at the quality and portion. There was no peach sauce and the bananas must have been left out for a while as they were turning brown. I expected for £5.95 that the pancakes would have been bigger than they were too.

Ariana said her food was nice but she was a bit put off by the look of the chicken and mushroom soup.

I think my expectations exceeded the food that I was presented with and I don’t think I will be making a trip there again in the near future.

Our meal came to £16.15.
