Devizes’ newest cafe, which opened in January, has a list of speciality teas as long as your arm and a beautiful way of serving their brews.
They all come in transparent pots with an internal container for the leaves. Customers are given an egg timer and when the sands run out you are instructed to twist the lid to capture the leaves and then pour.
I sampled a delightful Ceylon tea costing £2.40 but in a pot big enough to get three cups while my son went for one of the house specialities, a green teajapan gyokuro at £3.20. His was a beautiful colour and tasted great as well.
There is also a good selection of lunchtime food, including open toasted sandwiches.
We went for the Jean-Claude Van Ham which is Wiltshire ham, cheese and wholegrain mustard. It comes with a salad, served in a separate dish, and a little jug of dressing and cost £5.50. The dish looked lovely, with two thick slices of fresh bread topped with melting ham and cheese. The mustard gave just the right amount of a kick.
Other dishes include baked camembert for £6.50 and meatballs in tomato sauce, also at £6.50.
* Open 8.30am-6pm Monday to Saturday and 9am-2pm on Sundays
