With a quick and simple lunch needed on New Year’s Day, my partner and I headed to the Brewers Fayre in Chippenham for a swift bite.
Despite the pub being busy, we were immediately shown to a table, which we hadn’t booked, and informed there were no special offers as it was a bank holiday.
The extensive menu gave us plenty to ponder, including a range of hot filled ciabattas, served with potato dippers and crunchy coleslaw, and jacket potatoes with a side salad.
We ordered a jacket potato with cheese and beans and fish and chips.
For both meals and a refillable Pepsi, the bill came to £15.23.
Considering the restaurant was busy, the food came in reasonable time. My fish was a good size and the chips were tasty, while my partner’s jacket potato was well filled with a fresh, crisp side salad.
Despite the very tempting- looking dessert menu, we didn’t have the time to see how they were.
The Brewers Fayre continues to offer good basic pub food suitable for all, particularly families with children who can choose from the Beano-themed kids menu before trying out the activities comic.
