Summer at Bowood 2008
Stars line up for Glastonbury rival

| TAR VENUE: Event manager James Walden at Bowood |
SUPERSTAR DJ and producer Mark Ronson will be treading the boards at Bowood this summer thanks to his friendship with local event manager James Walden.
Mr Walden, 30, from Semington and his younger brother Nick, 26, have put together a two-day music festival, sponsored by the Gazette, to offer an alternative line-up to Glastonbury.
The Rose Tree Jam, on June 27 and 28, will showcase a range of stars from the hugely successful DJ to songstress K T Tunstall and current chart topper Sam Sparro.
Mr Walden is determined to bring something new in the way of music to the area after working as an events manager since leaving Oxford Brookes University.
He said: "I have known Mark Ronson for years when he was a club DJ starting out and so it is brilliant to have him topping the bill for us on the Friday.
"I have always lived around this area of Wiltshire and I feel the county is overlooked when the big acts tour. There are always gigs for pop bands or classical concerts but few which host the most credible acts in the industry. Bowood House and grounds is the perfect setting for this festival because the atmosphere is so open and relaxed."
Since leaving university, Mr Walden worked his way up from club night events to working in some of the West's hottest venues and is a regular at the Bristol Academy. He said: "On the Friday we have some of the biggest names dance and club music with Mark Ronson, Sam Sparro and Calvin Harris, then on Saturday we have brilliant Indie talent from K T Tunstall and Athlete.
Tickets for The Rose Tree Jam start at £30 and can be booked by calling 08700 600 958 or online at www.therosetreejam.com
