2008 shaping up to be the biggest event ever

This year the Chippenham Folk Festival will be it's biggest ever.

There are over 200 events happening over just three and a half days.

Celebrating its 37th birthday, the festival will take place on the 23rd to 26th of May.

There are 15 venues including a new stage at the Olympiad leisure Centre and the Island park.

This will be in addition to the main Arena Stage and the fabulous Marquee and dance floor in the Black Horse pub.

The festival will showcase some of the best in Appalachian Dance and clog stepping in a mini arena, which will be surrounded by local community stalls.

Also performing at the festival are top Irish folk band SOLAS.

There will be a huge children's area with Jonathan The Jester and his crew.

The stilt walking, juggling, ball walking, mono cycling, and all round mad man will be whipping up a whirlpool of fun for all the children at the festival with a massive range of things for young people.

The Youth have not been left out at the festival as they now have their own mini marquee on Island Park to run a range of workshops.

A range of workshops will also be run by the team from Shooting Roots, a national Youth Folk initiative.

For more information on the event go the Chippenham Folk Festival website.

If you would like to sponsor an event or Artist ring Bob Berry on 07714550990.
