How would you like to be the Gazette & Herald Face of Fashion 2011?

Sponsored by Hallmark Photography, the competition is just part of the celebrations to mark the 21st birthday of Hallmark Photography. Aimed at the 16-24 age group (both male and female), the idea behind the launch of the competition is to find someone to represent the ‘Face of Fashion’ in Wiltshire. This does not mean that entrants have to have modelling experience or be a particular height, size or shape to take part.

We all know that fashion encompasses a huge range of trends, ideas and variations so the competition itself is more about finding someone individual who stands out from the crowd for whatever reason, rather than fits any preconceived mould that may currently exist in the world of fashion. Kevin Hall of Hallmark Photography explains – ‘We’re really looking forward to running the Face of Fashion competition this year.

After previously having sponsored ‘Wiltshire’s Next Top Model’ competition in association with the Wiltshire Times in past years, we know that many of the entrants will never have had the chance of experience a studio photoshoot with a professional photographer before. The competition gives everyone an equal chance as the criteria for entering is wide open.

It is hugely exciting for us as a company as we get to meet a wide range of people and there is nothing quite like seeing someone realise a different side to their character when they get in front of the camera. Even the most shy of individuals can be amazed at how they look in their images when they see the results – one of the greatest compliments we can receive is when a client tells us what a great time they’ve had with us and how relaxed they felt during their shoot. The results then speak for themselves because the real personality of the person being photographed, shines out in the images we create for them.’

The lucky winner of the Face of Fashion will receive a one-to-one portfolio shoot at the Hallmark Studio in Calne along with a 20 print portfolio album of 10” x 8” images from the shoot and a 20” x 16” canvas wrap print of their chosen selected image. In addition, the winner will have a one-to-one make-up session with award winning make-up artist Sarah Brock.

Sarah is the Director of Makeup Artistry for Daniel Sandler. Sarah was the winner of the Makeup Artist of the Year at the Wedding Industry Awards 2008 (sponsored by Conde Nast Brides) and was the winner of the 2009 Professional Beauty Awards, Makeup Specialist of the Year. Sarah regularly contributes to national magazines and the national press as a makeup/beauty expert and has been quoted by British Vogue as the ‘go-to makeup artist for award winning bridal makeup’. The full hairdressing skills of Courtyard Creative Hairdressing will be on hand to ensure that they look perfect when they step in front of the cameras for their shoot. Recently voted Best Hair Salon by the readers of the Wiltshire Gazette and Herald, Courtyard Creative Hairdressing offer their clients the highest standard of hairdressing and customer care in the beautiful and tranquil surroundings of Calne's St Mary's Courtyard. They are delighted to be involved in the Face of Fashion 2011. The prize is worth a total of more than £750 and really is the chance of a lifetime.

All you have to do to enter is download and complete the entry form and take it along with you to Hallmark Photography, The Pippin, Calne, SN11 8AE. Tel: 01249 816707. The entry period is from 26th May 2011 to 4th June 2011.

We will feature a supplement of entrants in-paper on 23rd June 2011. Readers will then have the chance to vote for their favourite entrant. 10 finalists will be announced in-paper on 7th July 2011. We will then have a finalists evening and the winners will be chosen by a judging panel. We will announce the winners in a supplement in-paper on 28th July 2011.
