In the sequel to the 2004 comedy Harold & Kumar Get The Munchies, stoner
roommates and best friends Harold (John Cho) and Kumar (Kal Penn) decide
to follow their love of pot all the way to Amsterdam. Unfortunately,
when Kumar decides to light up on the airplane - a bong that is - the
pals are mistaken for terrorists and rushed to Guantanamo Bay where they
are welcomed with open arms by the warders. Having suffered various
indignities behind barbed wire, the pair escapes from the detention
centre with Homeland Security chief Ron Fox (Rob Corddry) and his team
in hot pursuit. Meanwhile, both roommates face trials and tribulations
of the heart: Harold to attract the woman of his dreams, Maria (Paula
Graces), and Kumar to win back his ex-girlfriend, Vanessa (Danneel
Harris), before she ties the knot.
During the end credits of Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins, popular talk show
host Dr. RJ Stevens (Lawrence) turns to camera, flashes his cheesiest
grin and delivers the sermon of the day about cherishing one's nearest
and dearest, even the oddballs.
Caramel is a
deliciously sweet melodrama revolving around a Beirut beauty salon
called Si Belle, which provides a focal point for the gossiping local
women as they search for love and fulfilment.
INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL (12A, 122 mins)
Action/Drama/Comedy/Romance. Harrison Ford, Shia LaBeouf, Cate
Blanchett, Ray Winstone, Karen Allen, John Hurt, Jim Broadbent.
The most eagerly anticipated film of the summer takes its time cutting to the first chase (a spectacular shootout in the warehouse from the end of Raiders Of The Lost Ark), but I won't: Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull is only half of a great movie.
SMART People is a pithy coming of middle age story about a fusty university professor who can wax lyrical about poetry but is incapable of saying I love you.
THIS so-so Asian horror remake has fashion photographer Benjamin Shaw (Joshua Jackson) and his wife Jane (Rachael Taylor) travelling to Japan for a lucrative assignment.
